What We're About...The purpose is inline with the 3-fold purpose of Logos; Discover, Transform and Apply. With an emphasis on the beginning and purpose of a persons identity and introduction to Christian life, Kollao is designed to appreciate and teach that differences are ok and encouraged and in fact that these differences are essential in establishing the Kingdom. As the year progresses, the hope is that these students will discover/rediscover themselves as makers and changers of history. By understanding our roles, we hope to take a closer look at what comes natural to us (spiritual gifts) and how apply them in a practical way. Some Things We Do...Thursday Nights - These are our regular youth nights. We usually kick things off with something fun - church wide games have always been a favourite past time. Then, after we burn off some energy we get into a discussion in small groups. Led by different leaders we usually discuss some practical issues about faith, friends, and family. Influencer Nights - These nights are chance for the youth and the greater church to get-to-know each other. Things we have done in the past include: knit-o-thon, potlucks, movie nights etc. Through these evenings we try to build mentorship and accountability across generations. WWF (Worship Without Fear) - These evenings are awesome! We partner with a few other churches in town and put on an evening of worship led by a local band. There are over 150 youth that come out to these events. They are a great opportunity to bring your friends. Photo Gallery |
