You will find a
great deal of helpful information about your booking at Cascade in the
Rental
Information Package. If you are
still wondering about something, here are the answers to some
wedding-specific questions we have been asked in the past.
Can we have a wedding any day of the week?
The facility is not available on Sundays or on long weekends.
Can the pastor of our choice marry us?
A pastor from another
church may officiate at the ceremony. Plan to discuss this with the
booking coordinator before you confirm.
Would one of Cascade’s officers officiate at the ceremony?
Each situation is handled on an individual basis. It may be possible to
make special arrangements with one of our officers, in which case
premarital counselling is a requirement.
Is there enough parking for all of our guests?
Yes, there is parking at the front, side, and back of the church. As
well, guests can park on the street (but not in front of the bus stop
or the fire hydrant.) Arrangements can be made with neighbouring
churches for additional parking if necessary.
Do we need a soundperson?
Yes. Cascade provides a soundperson for the ceremony. The cost is
outlined in the contract. It is your choice whether or not to have a
soundperson for the reception, but only Cascade's sound person is to
operate Cascade's equipment.
How soon before our wedding do we have to have our final numbers?
The number can be changed up to 48 hours prior to the wedding and the
cost will be adjusted accordingly. After this time, the cost will only
be adjusted should the number increase.
When do we have to pay for the wedding?
A non-refundable deposit of fifty percent of the room rental is
required in order to confirm at the time of booking. The balance is to
be paid by the rehearsal, or as arranged with the booking coordinator.
Is there any exception to the no-alcohol policy for toasts?
The consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted in or around
the facilities under any circumstances.
Is there a designated smoking area?
Smoking is not permitted in the building or on the property.
Can we decorate the sanctuary and reception room before the wedding day?
The sanctuary and gym are usually available for decorating the day
before the wedding. Be sure to make arrangements with the booking
coordinator.
Can we decorate the walls of the gym?
The walls may be decorated as long as you use only green
painter’s tape to attach your decorations. There are hangers partway up
the walls that can be used for twinkle lights, garlands, etc.
Are we allowed to use candles and candelabras?
Yes. Candles must be dripless, and a drop-sheet must be placed
underneath candelabras to protect surfaces from damage. We supply clear
plastic coasters for candles.
Can we use fresh rose petals on the floor?
No, fresh petals can cause stains.
Can we use confetti, rice or bubbles?
None of these can be used due to the cleaning problems they create.
Does Cascade provide tablecloths and napkins?
White tablecloths are available at a charge of $5.00 each. Regular
paper napkins are included, but you are welcome to supply your own
napkins if you want something different. Table skirting is available in burgundy only.
Will the kitchen accommodate special dietary needs?
If you inform the booking coordinator well in advance, the
culinary staff will
do their best to meet any special requirements.
Will we be able to
show a slide show or video during the reception?
You will need to provide your own video projector. Other equipment
such as sound system and screen are included in the
room rental fee.
Is there a time the reception should end by?
We ask guests to adhere to an 11:00 p.m.
closing time.
